PrincipalPrincipal McKenney graduated from Keene State College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1985 and from the University of New Hampshire with a Masters of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2000. He currently holds New Hampshire state certifications for Principal and Experienced Elementary Educator. His educational experiences include teaching fourth, fifth and sixth grade as well as eleven years as a school administrator. He began teaching grade six in 1985 at the Newmarket Elementary School before getting hired in Dover where he taught fourth and fifth grade at the Woodman Park Elementary School. He taught Sixth Grade at Dover Middle School from 1998 through 2000 before taking an administrative position in the Portsmouth School District. Most recently he had been the Dean of Students at Dover High School from 2007 until moving into the Co-Principal role at Dover Middle School in 2011.

Principal McKenney is a lifelong Dover resident and a 1981 graduate of Dover High School. Outside of school he enjoys spending time with his wife of 25 years and his two children. Golfing, motorcycling and working around his yard are some of his favorite activities.
